This stylish garden is based on large blocks of rectangles which lock together forming a very pleasing modern design giving the feel of an outdoor room. A split level Meranti hardwood deck forms the main room at the top end as you enter the garden from the house. This incorporates a chunky handrail with etched glass screens and sleek halogen lighting set into the deck plinth. This is flanked by a 5m long rendered planter with black bamboo. A deck walkway leads you through the garden past a trio of large palms, grasses and ferns over a black tiled canal which runs the width of the garden at the rear end. You cross the bridge and step down into a black limestone terrace that is surrounded by raised rendered planters with built in hardwood benches. This area is also lit at night with subtle uplighting. This garden is sparingly planted in a modern style and works well with the rigid layout of the overall design. The planted areas were mulched with black Turkish marble cobbles and black basalt chips. We also installed a custom made trellis to complete the look.
