Case Study 7 -
Large Hardwood Deck
We had previously worked at this property some 7 years ago and after transforming their front garden the clients asked us to replace an existing old deck in their rear garden. A large area of some 150m2 including a main raised deck opening out to a large social area with two sets of steps leading down on to two lower walkways. We needed to replace the whole existing sub structure and support legs to guarantee success of the newly installed hardwood deck we had planned.
For this project 145mm Brazilian Ipe hardwood with a hidden fixed system was chosen to give a seamless clean appearance. We also added a border around the perimeter of the deck to further enhance the look. As the main deck area was raised some 2m + off the ground we chose a stainless steel architectural wire balustrade system for safety and aesthetics. This was capped with a matching Ipe handrail running the whole length of the deck to complete the look.
